Fall 2019 Lacrosse Opportunities

Just because it’s the “off-season” doesn’t mean you can’t GET YOUR LAX ON!

Blue Ridge Lacrosse would like to highlight some great options for keeping that stick in your hand this fall.

For GIRLS:

We are excited to announce our GIRLS fall lacrosse program.  As in the past, our FALL Recreational program is meant to be FUN!  The hope is that you’ll keep a stick in your hand, find some time to play some great pick up lacrosse, and keep your skills sharp as we roll into the spring season.  We have a couple of great options for families this fall:

  • All GIRLS BRLC players (new and experienced) at K-8th grade--8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U will be playing Lacrosse Under the Lights, Sunday evenings from 5:30-7:00 on the EC Glass HS Turf.  Lacrosse Under the Lights will begin September 22 (THIS SUNDAY), September 29, October 6 and 20 and November 3, and 17.
  • Cost to register is $50/player and comes with a very cool Lax Under the Lights T Shirt.  FREE GEAR RENTAL is available!

We know that most of you play other fall sports, so our LAX UNDER THE LIGHTS is designed to be FUN and compliment other activities. Please come to as many sessions as you are able.

  • BRLC is taking 2 GIRLS teams to Fairfax Fall Brawl for the first time this year. This 7v7 tournament is designed for Rec programs and is a TON OF FUN.  14U (generally 7/8th grade) & 12U (generally 5/6th teams) will attend.    This is the WEEKEND FOLLOWING Thanksgiving, Saturday November 30th.  Players who are interested in playing for BRLC at FALL BRAWL will register separately, directly on the Fall Brawl website.  Cost of Fall Brawl is an additional $75/player.  Coaches will send out registration information in October.  BRLC will send out hotel information in the next couple weeks, so please let your coach know if you are in for Fall Brawl as well.  More information is at http://www.fairfaxfallbrawl.com/Page.asp?n=70257&org=FAIRFAXFALLBRAWL.COM
  • Practices will be at the Lacrosse Under the Lights Fall Program with a maybe a few extra added closer to the tournament.

  • Justine Button/JAB Lacrosse is running a fantastic fall program for minis and middle school girls.  JAB is taking teams to several tournaments as well as Sunday practice sessions.  Visit http://www.jablacrosse.com/ to learn more and register for fall.

  • Finally, this summer, a number of hardworking BRLC volunteers worked to create the first outdoor BOX LACROSSE court in Lynchburg, thanks to our hosts at HumanKind.  Located on the campus of HumanKind, BRLC’s box court is available for our young players and families to pull together pick up games, shoot around, and have FUN!  We only have a few rules to follow:
    1. Please email  Joni Addington jaddington@humankind.org at HumanKind to notify her of your intentions to use the court. Please include dates, times and approximate number of kids. This is to keep her posted and so she can let you know if there are any conflicts. The sooner you can let her know about this the better.
    2. Please park in the field (where folks park for the XC meets). Please don’t park in any of the HK spots.
    3. Please remember that no lacrosse balls are allowed; only soft balls. Old tennis balls work the best.
    4. Have fun out there!  That’s why we built the court!  We have already seen some of our 12U and 14U players pull together some righteous pick up games out there.
  • FREE BLUE RIDGE LACROSSE CLINICS
Blue Ridge Lacrosse will be offering FREE CLINICS for girls and boys over the fall and winter on select Sundays.
